今日は仕事のあとで薪仲間の慰労会。最近野菜をこれでもかっていうくらいもら
って食べ切れないので、全部まとめてラタトゥイユを煮た。大鍋に豪快に作った
が、たくさん人がいたのであっという間になくなって気持ちがいいほど。豆腐チ
ーズケーキも好評でよかった。おいしいってよろこんで食べてもらえるとうれし
いなー。
じっさの作ったきゅうりが今年は味がイマイチで、なんて話をしていたら、馨さ
んがそのきゅうりをおもむろに味わってから
「これは………石灰欠乏だな！」
と言うのに笑った。新手の野菜ソムリエ。
（というか、このふたりのじいさま・とうさまのやり取り、かなり好き）
慰労会の後はカラマツストーブの会議だったので、手のすいた三枝さんとお茶し
つつ、ストーブの新しいパンフレットを折ったりするが、なんだか空気は夏の宵
にぐっと近づいてて、窓を開けたら気持ちがよかった。まだ肌寒い蓼科だが、空
気や雲の感じは日に日に夏らしくなっていく。
本日も夕方雨で豆は蒔けず。今週は畑に行こうと思っていると雨が降るので、あ
まり畑に時間がさけないまま。豆は結構ぎりぎりと思うのでちょっぴり焦る。

Mrs. Agathe’s dishwasher quit working so she called a repairman. Since she had to go to work the next day, she told him, “I’ll leave the key under the mat. Fix the dishwasher, leave the bill on the counter, and I’ll mail you the check. Oh, and by the way…don’t worry about my Doberman. He won’t bother you. But, whatever you do, do NOT under ANY circumstances talk to my parrot!” When the repairman arrived at Mrs. Agathe’s apartment the next day, he discovered the biggest and meanest looking Doberman he had ever seen. But just as she had said, the dog simply laid there on the carpet, watching the repairman go about his business. However, the whole time the parrot drove him nuts with his incessant cursing, yelling and name-calling. Finally the repairman couldn’t contain himself any longer and yelled, “Shut up, you stupid ugly bird!” To which the parrot replied, “Get him, Spike!”
