ようやく平熱（子供体温なので３７度に限りなく近い）まで落ち着き、投薬なしで過ごせる身体になりつつあるが、病み上がり特有の気だるさと渇きで弛緩的ぐったりを繰り返す日々である。
高熱時、当然食は細くなっており、身に骨にと為るべき食にあり付いていない為、痩せゆく一方、五臓と六腑はさしたる滋養も期待できない山菜方面を慾したりする事もしばしば。
平茸を喰う度際に思い出すのが、崖下に転落しながらも自分よりも茸を篭にがっつり乗せたという阿呆故事に由来する、
「国司は転んでもただでは起きぬ」
であり、連想して止まぬのが、耳切り鼻削ぎ髪切って尼になれと百姓らを脅す武闘派荘園領主の執拗加減を表現した、
「泣く子と地頭には勝てぬ」
である。
良い役人とは死んだ役人だけなのは世の常である事よ。
